Information is all around you, so go get it! The technology is so accessible and available today that makes education, information and communication a lot easier than before. I have to remind you that it was not like that when I was in college. Now, go to the computer, tablet or smartphone and look for what you want is easy and fast. We should use it in a way that we could learn more and be more connected with the world every day, every second. Even the language barrier can be broken when you know how to use technology.

The advices from Dr. Hodge for the ones that is seeking more information and education include research more for what you want to learn in websites that facilitate the interaction (personal and business), the education by distance, look at websites and blogs, make connections in social media and much more. Check the Interview with her in the end of this post. If you are a student today, that means you must spend time in the internet looking for good sources of knowledge in trustable websites for the information you need. If you are a professor, think about a new way to communicate and publish knowledge using the new technology available.

A great example about how education and technology are related is the distance learning in Brazil. Between 2002 and 2013, the education using internet have grown 24 times and keep going. Almost 4 million students were in e-learning in Brazil in 2014, using on-line courses, mostly offered by private (and new) schools. This way is cheaper, easier to go to school, have flexible time and many other reasons that make students try this option of education (http://abed.org.br/censoead2014/CensoEAD2014_portugues.pdf). I have to say that you will need determination and self discipline to go until the end of the course.

Just for your information, the education using e-learning platforms in Brazil have arisen so much, especially because of the increased internet connectivity outside of the big cities.  That brought the possibility of many families that live in rural areas, far from everything, put their kids in college. The average income is so low, that they cannot effort housing, transportation, food and education for their kids. This kind of education is also cheaper than a regular one. The e-learning college courses in Brazil are now about 15% of all college education in the country, an opportunity created by the internet connectivity.

Lembro que há cursos grátis em universidade públicas e privadas com ótimos cursos em todos os níveis à disposição no mercado educacional. Eu mesmo estou fazendo um curso on-line aqui nos Estadou Unidos, numa das mais conceituadas universidades americanas, de graça. Essa maneira é mais barata, mais fácil de chegar até uma universidade, tem flexibilidade de horários e muitas outras razões para fazer qualquer estudante tentar essa opção de educação. Mas é preciso determinação e disciplina para ir até o final do curso.
